A rubber mat, our most durable solution, is almost always sought after by many of our customers. We frequently discover when we investigate their requirements in greater depth that they do not require a rubber mat at all, as the most robust solution is not always the best.
Offices are one example of a customer segment that stands to benefit the most from alternative solutions because they do not require something that can accommodate hundreds of people per hour.
Rubber Floor Mats are the best choice for environments that are often foot-heavy or wet. For offices that do not require them, lightweight floor mats provide additional benefits.
To help you decide if heavy-duty floor mats are right for you, here are some of the disadvantages of rubber office floor mats.
Smell
The stench is well-known to anyone who works with rubber. The elastic has a genuinely impressive scent. In warehouses and industrial areas, the smell is barely noticeable among other things, but it won't last long in offices if there is enough ventilation and cleaning. The stench is out of the question in offices where there is little to no foot traffic.
Streaks
Just as you don't want off-brand mats to be an eyesore in your office, you don't want anything to leave a mark on your floor. Another reason why the elastic is not always the best mat is because of this.
Scuff marks on natural rubber hard floors typically need to be removed frequently to prevent accumulation. The marks can be removed with a small amount of WD-40, but there are other options that leave no marks at all.
Slipperiness
A lot of our customers want solutions that won't slide on their entrances and walkways. Elastic is frequently the first thing that comes to mind when you think of a nonslip mat. Rubber, on the other hand, isn't always the best option.
Sore Backs
The durable Rubber Flooring have no effect on sore backs. Standing all day on mats that are either too soft or too hard is uncomfortable, and the amount of support that is required will vary depending on the circumstance.
While the mats behind the cash registers require something that is both adaptable and supportive, those at the entrance should be stronger and low-profile.
Sight
The sight elastic mats are not the most engaging and accessible. Even though appearances aren't everything, most offices, especially those that deal with customers, want to appear smart.
On the majority of rubber mats, the only customization is a yellow safety border. You can pick something that works well and looks good if you let go of the idea that it has to last a long time.
Stains
The stains have numerous holes in the rubber mats. Drainage is provided by the holes, which prevent liquids from pooling on the floor and leading to slips. One disadvantage of these is that dirt and debris also fall through the holes.
The floor becomes particularly unpleasant and filthy when this dirt and water mix. Since most offices don't need mats with holes, rubber substitutes can help keep the floors clean.
Sustainability
It is not new that rubber is harmful to the environment. As it breaks down, rubber deforests the land, uses resources like crude oil, and poisons the earth.
In big industrial settings, rubber is sometimes needed, but small and medium businesses typically don't need anything as heavy.
